The Decemberists did a cover of “Little Boxes” for the tv-show “weeds”. The song originally was written by the folk singer & political activist Malvina Reynolds who said, that she wrote it on purpose in the morning before her breakfast. Born 1900, Reynolds started her musical career in her late 40’s and became a collaborator of folk legend Pete Seeger.
