Backyard - A Reykjavík movie
Reykjavík’s music scene is known for it’s variety and quality. The movie “Backyard” takes a close up on a certain part of this scene and captures a special one time event. Arni and Arni, one musician, the other film maker set up a show in their backyard, invite a couple of bands and buddys and just started shooting.
“It’s about getting good pictures and sound, but people can show up. So maybe there might be an audience”, that’s how it starts. Eventually the crowd is not far away and the whole show turns into a semi-private celebration of scene-spirit. A scene united by attitude and sensibility, not music style.
This really nice and personal documentary features acts like Mum, Sin Fang (solo project of Seabear singer Sindri Már), Borko, Retro Stefson or FM Belfast. Highly recommended for music lovers of all ages.
