Luke Leighfield - the underground star

Recently this blog features a lot of british songwriters. I don’t exactly know why, but I guess it’s nothing to worry about. So here is another artist from Great Britain. Luke Leighfield is called “UK’s biggest underground pop star” and if you watch his new video, you’ll know why. The young man seems to have what it takes to become a star without the need of being a cheap rip-off. Catchy melodies and smart lyrics go together with a great musical talent.

Early 2012 will see Leighfield release a new album on the german label Stargazer Records and later this year he will tour germany. I’ll have the pleasure to host one of his shows at “Endstation Sehnsucht” in Wuppertal at December 2nd.

Bring The Mourning On - autumn almanac

In the last years Scandinavia has proofed to be a great source for autumn and winter tunes. This october Bring The Mourning On from Sweden will release their debut and bring some warmth and understanding for a cold season.

Following artists like Kristofer Astroem, St. Thomas, Christian Kjellvander or Poor Rich Ones, the band delivers the comforting soundtrack for days that are too cold and rainy. Since 2006 the music evolved through emotional late night talks, red wine and cigarette smoke.

Let’s describe the sound as massive melancholy, room filling and comfortable. This one goes out to the great wide open.
